The wallpaper didn’t change overnight.
EaselWall rotates at the time you set in Settings › Schedule. If your Mac was asleep across that moment, EaselWall catches up when it wakes. If it still didn’t rotate, click the menu bar icon and choose Next Painting.
Can I add my own paintings?
Not in v1. The bundled catalogue is curated from the Art Institute of Chicago and The Met. You can fetch more public-domain Van Gogh works from the Rijksmuseum Collection; custom collections are on the roadmap.
How do I add paintings from the Rijksmuseum Collection?
Open Settings › Gallery › Additional Collections and click Fetch Paintings. The Rijksmuseum’s current public data API is keyless, so no account or API key is needed. EaselWall adds only records marked CC0 or Public Domain Mark.
Where are the wallpaper images stored?
EaselWall keeps downloaded paintings in its Application Support folder. The Mac App Store build stores that folder inside its sandbox container; direct and Homebrew builds use ~/Library/Application Support/EaselWall. Bundled paintings stay inside the app itself.
How do I uninstall?
Quit EaselWall from its menu bar, drag the app to the Trash, and (optional) remove preferences with defaults delete com.ntindle.EaselWall.
Does EaselWall send my data anywhere?
EaselWall sends no personal data or telemetry. It contacts museum servers to fetch public artwork metadata and images; the Rijksmuseum flow uses no API key. See the privacy page for the full statement.
